New project: elemines

13 September 2012

I’m still playing with the Enlightenment Foundation Libraries (which have reached the 1.7.0 milestone) and made a small minesweeper clone named elemines because it uses elementary. Most graphics are derivative work of the GPL data of Battle of Wesnoth. Free download of the 0.1 release at SourceForge. Have fun!

  1. Nice game, Jérôme!

Using Battle of Wesnoth graphycs was a good idea. The game is pretty.

  2. Hello,
I have built efl on ubuntu 12.10 and compiled elemines. I think there is one serious issue. With every click of refresh button, memory usage increases significantly. After 20 refreshes I got following:
    Private 120912 KB (= 4404 KB clean + 116508 KB dirty)
    Shared 3808 KB (= 3808 KB clean + 0 KB dirty)
    Rss 124720 KB (= Private + Shared)
    Pss 121105 KB (= Private + Shared/Number of Processes)
    Swap 0 KB

I used valgrind to find memory leaks but it didn’t show such high values as above summary.

Thanks for your report. The problem should be now fixed in the git tree at http://sourceforge.net/p/elemines/code/ci/8797af805a90ba50ce6b5fa8bd5fc5b20e336531/tree/

  4. Hello again,
Do you have an idea what is the reason of bad resizing performance of elemines? I have asked about this on elinghtenment forum but had no answer. I have compile EFL on ubuntu 12.10 and tested elemines on Xfce and KDE. Could you please see following videos?

Here is question on elinghtenment users group:

    Thank you in advance

I saw your message on e-dev mailing-list but was waiting for other comments. I can’t reproduce this problem using elemines with E17 or Xfce. Maybe something in your setup?

I’ll publish elemines 0.2 today, you could give it a try.

  6. Hello,
I have checked 0.2 version. Resizing is still ,,lazy”. Do you know about, up to date, EFL build instructions for Ubuntu?

  7. Hi, the whole thing is going perfectly here and ofcourse every one is sharing facts, that’s in fact excellent, keep up writing.
